An industry conclave and interphase meet with seed production and processing firms was held today at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseeds Research, Hyderabad. The event marked the commercialization of a groundbreaking patented Bio-Polymer Process, the first of its kind from ICAR-IIOR. The innovative, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic polymers for seed coating applications in agriculture was licensed to two private seed industries M/ Srikar Agritech, Hyderabad, and M/s Yaduka Agritech, Kolkata. The technology has been priced at Rs. 25 lakhs.

The signing and exchange of MoUs took place with Dr Linga Srinivasa Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, M/s Srikar Agritech, and Dr Aditya Apoorva, Director and IT Head, M/s Yaduka Agritech, in the esteemed presence of Dr T. R. Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), Dr S. K. Rao, Former Vice-Chancellor, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior, Dr R. K. Mathur, Director, ICAR-IIOR, and Dr Praveen Malik, CEO, Agrinnovate India.

Dr Sharma, lauded the innovators of patented biopolymer technology.
Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Assistant Director General (Oilseed and Pulses), ICAR, Dr Poonam Jasrotia, Assistant Director General (PP & BS) and Dr Alok K Srivastava, Director, ICAR- National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Mau, also graced the occasion.

The event also showcased several innovative products developed by startups from the ICAR-IIOR Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ABIC), underscoring the institute’s commitment to fostering agricultural innovation.

The technology development has been taken up through ICAR funding through Institute and as well as ICAR Network project on AMAAS.  An exhibition featuring hybrids of different oil seed crops and various microbial technologies developed by ICAR-IIOR was also organized.

Scientists of ICAR-IIOR and other dignitaries participated in the event.
