Scientists of ICAR CIAE RS, Coimbatore participated in the State Level Policy Advocacy
meeting under Chairmanship of Sh. C. Samaya Moorthy, IAS, Principal Secretary & Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), and Sh. L. Subramanian, IAS, Commissioner (Agriculture) held on 20.07.2023 at Directorate of Agriculture, Chennai. As a part of the project “A Multi-Dimensional Study on Zero Tillage Drill adoption in Tamil Nadu”, Tractor Operated Zero Till Drill was demonstrated and interactive sessions cum field trials were conducted in South India for sowing of Black/green gram in Rice fallow pulse cropping system.
These demonstrations were conducted for further refinement, scalability and promotion of the technology. Along with CIAE-RS, Scientists, Dr. Elamathi, Professor (Agronomy), Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute, TNAU, Aduthurai also participated for discussion with the officials from Directorate and all the District JD’s to take the technology for potential adoption. Dr. R. Senthil Kumar, Sr. Sci., (Co PI) made detailed presentation on completed activities, further convergence of Stakeholders for future work plan, Testing and empaneling of developed machine for farmers benefit.
