The Central Horticultural Experimental Station (CHES), ICAR-Indian Institute Horticultural Research (IIHR), and DBT-Institute of Life Science (ILS), Bhubaneswar jointly organized a 3-day training programme on “Planting material production of Horticultural crops” for the farmers of Koraput and Nabarangpur district of Odisha from 19/12/2023 to 21/12/2023 under DBT-Biotech-Kisan project. The lectures on quality planting material production of horticultural crops were given by Dr Gobinda Ch Acharya, Head, CHES, Dr A V V Koundinya, Scientist, CHES; Dr C S Mohanty, Sr Principal Scientist, NBRI; Dr Sunil Samal, Reader, OUAT; Dr Satyapriya Singh, scientists, CHES; Dr P Srinivas, PS, CHES; Dr Siddartha Ku Palei, Professor, OUAT; Dr Nedunchezhiyan, M, PS, CTCRI; Dr Chittaranajan Sahu, DDH, Centre of Excellence, Govt of Odisha. Demonstration and hands-on training on quality planting material production like grafting, layering, vegetable grafting, inputs required for various operations, micro-irrigation, nursery structures etc were also explained in detail to participants by Sri M K Pattanaik, TO, CHES; Sri S Majhi, TO, CHES; Sri P C Majhi, STA, CHES; and Sri Anil Adamala, YP-II, CHES. The farm implements were distributed to participants.
