In a significant development aimed at enhancing infrastructure and accessibility, Cabinet Minister Sh. Aman Arora laid the foundation stone for a new road at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) during a Block Level Farmers Awareness Camp organized by KVK, Sangrur on 20.09.2024. The initiative was a part of the government’s commitment to improve agricultural facilities and support local farmers.

​The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana who expressed gratitude to the Minister Arora for his unwavering support towards agricultural development in the region. “This road will not only facilitate easier access for farmers to the KVK Farm but will also help in effective management of the research and seed farm,” Dr. Bhullar noted during his remarks.

​Associate Director Dr. Mandeep Singh warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the road in connecting local farmers with essential resources and training opportunities. “This project symbolizes our dedication to the agricultural community. It will provide much-needed access to modern agricultural practices and technologies,” Dr. Singh stated. He also introduced various activities of KVK, highlighting initiatives in crop residue management, sustainable agricultural practices, and innovative technologies.

​Minister Arora highlighted the government’s vision of fostering rural development through improved infrastructure. “This road is just the beginning. Our focus is on building a robust framework that supports our farmers, ensuring they have the necessary tools to thrive,” he remarked.

​The new road is expected to facilitate better movement of quality seeds and other services, ultimately boosting the rural economy. Attendees included local farmers, agricultural experts, and community leaders, all eager to witness the positive impact of this initiative.

​The ceremony concluded with a collective commitment to work towards the betterment of the agricultural sector in Punjab, ensuring that farmers receive the support they need to succeed.

​Various dignitaries and scientific personalities including Dr. Buta Singh Romana, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Rukinder Preet Singh Dhaliwal, S. Gurinder Singh, S. Nirmal Singh, S. Bachittar Singh Garcha, S. Harwinder Sigh, S. Yadwinder Singh, S. Makhan Singh, S. Rinku Singh, S. Mandeep Singh Bhim, Mrs. Surinder Kaur, Mrs. Jeev Lata and Mrs. Amarpreet Kaur were also present on this occasion.
