It is a momentous occasion for BAU as its project, “Agri-Innovation for Upliftment of Farmers Livelihood” has been awarded the prestigious SKOCH Award of India. This honour reflects the innovative efforts and commitment of the University towards enhancing the livelihood of farmers. The award was received by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. D. R. Singh at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The SKOCH Award recognizes people, projects and institutions who go the extra mile to make India a better nation. The award is given for their exceptional achievements in contributing to the society.
The University has already secured a place in the Grand Finale demonstrating the significant impact and potential of its project. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Singh expressed his gratitude to the SKOCH authorities for recognizing and awarding the University’s project. He expressed happiness over the success of the University’s dedicated work towards the farming community of Bihar and said that the awarded project focuses on developing new varieties of essential crops like paddy, wheat, maize, brinjal and parwal, among other crops. Additionally, the University is at the forefront of advancing new agricultural technologies aimed at improving productivity.
Dr. Singh also highlighted the University’s efforts in disseminating these innovations. He said that through its media center, social media platforms and Gyan Vahan initiative, the University ensures that valuable information and technologies reach the farmers effectively.
This award received by Bihar Agricultural University reflects BAU’s commitment towards farmers.
