An awareness programme for contractual laborers was organised at the ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, today to educate them about their rights and the importance of workplace safety. The officials interacted with laborers engaged in diverse duties at the institute, addressing their concerns and answering questions.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI briefed about several initiatives the Institute has undertaken for its contractual laborer’s. These initiatives include celebrating International Labour Day, offering coaching classes for the children of laborers, providing access to the Institute’s clinic for contractual workers, and supporting the higher education of laborers’ children voluntarily
The Institute aims to create a secure and supportive work environment for all contractual laborers by enhancing their understanding of labor rights and safety protocols.
