ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa, and ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa, organized an input distribution programme related to natural farming under TSP at Diwar, North Goa, today.
The Chief Guest, Dr S.K. Roy, Director, ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, emphasized the significance of natural farming in enhancing soil health and ensuring sustainable agricultural practices. He highlighted that chemical-free farm produce not only improves soil quality but also offers better market prices, making it more attractive to consumers seeking organically produced vegetables.
The Guest of Honor, Mr Mario Pinto, Sarpanch, Goltim-Navelim, Diwar, , lauded the ICAR-KVKs team for their continuous support in promoting natural farming and expressed his gratitude for distributing essential farming tools and inputs to the ST beneficiaries.
A total of 42 beneficiaries (35 males and 7 females) received natural farming inputs, which included a 200-litre plastic drum, 2 kg of jaggery and gram flour, as well as farm implements such as a spade and pickaxe (with handles).
The event was coordinated by Dr Udharwar S.V., Shri Rahul Kumar, Shri Rahul Kulkarni, and Shri Vishwajeet Prajapati.
