Central Horticultural Experiment Station, ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bhubaneswar participated in an exhibition arranged in connection with “International Symposium on Shree Anna & Forgotten Foods” on 10th and 11th November 2024 organized by Dept. of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Govt. of Odisha at Convention Centre, Lokseva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

In the exhibition, various kinds of underutilized leafy vegetables like-Hidi-micha saga, Bramhi saga, Thalkudi saga, Mati poi, Pahadi saga, Lata saga, Bana dhania, Kalam saga, Kanchan saga, Nunia sag, pasaruni saga, Bhadobhadolia saga, chekurmanis and fruits like-Carambola,  Bael, Aonla, Tamarind and vegetables like-Spine gourd, Ivy gourd and winged beans were displayed in exhibition stall.

Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Chandra Majhi inaugurated the exhibition on 10.11.2024 along with Honorable Deputy Chief minister, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and other dignitaries. Both Hon’ble CM and Deputy CM along with Principal Secretary, Agriculture and other dignitaries visited the CHES(ICAR-IIHR) exhibition stall and were impressed about the activities on underutilized crops carried out at the centre.  On 11thNovember, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Ministers, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Smt. Pravati Paridaalong with other govt officials including Principal secretary (Agriculture) Dr. Arabinda Ku.Padhee, Prof P K Roul Hon’ble VC, OUAT; ShriPrem Chandra Chaudhary, Director, Agriculture & Food Production, Govt of Odisha and other officials, scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, farmers, SHG etc visited the CHES-IIHR Stall. Many delegates from National and International organizations also visited the CHES,BBSR stall and appreciated for displaying forgotten leafy vegetables and fruits. Dr G C Acharya along with Sri S Majhi and Sri B Paikaray coordinated the programme.
