ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Sreekariyam observed the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 during 28 October to 03 November 2024 with the focal theme Culture of Integrity for Nations Prosperity. The programme was launched on 28th October with the Integrity Pledge Taking Ceremony. Various competitions viz., elocution, essay writing in Malayalam/English/Hindi and poster competitions were held on the focal theme for the school students and CTCRI staff.
The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week was held on Monday 4th November 2024, 3 pm and Shri. Yogesh Gupta, DGP and Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, Thiruvannathapuram was the chief guest and delivered the valedictory address and gave away the prizes to the winners of the various competitions held in connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024. During his speech, he congratulated CTCRI for not having any vigilance cases during the past so many years. He also shared his vast experience in other government sectors where he worked and encouraged everyone to keep up the tradition of remaining corruption free.
He mentioned about transparency in a system and how important the various checks like CVO, Audit etc. are in controlling corruption. ICAR-CTCRI Director, Dr. G. Byju presided over the function and he talked about maintaining an ethical culture in research and how important that is for the advancement of a Nation. Dr. Sajeev M. S., Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer welcomed the gathering. Shri S. Bhadrakumar, Senior Administrative Officer and Dr. Asha Devi A, Principal Scientist also spoke on the occasion. The prize winners of the essay writing and poster competitions from KV Akkulam, Loyola School and Govt. High School, Sreekariyam with their parents were also participated along with the CTCRI staff.
