A total of 41 farmers and rural women attended the “Advanced Beekeeping Training Course” at the Skill Development Centre of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), held under the guidance of Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Skill Development), while providing the details, said, “Sharpening the skills and upgrading the apicultural knowledge of the farmers was the main objective of the training course.”

The Course Coordinator Dr Jaspal Singh highlighted the financial progress being made by the beekeepers from honey production in Punjab.

Experts Dr Amit Chaudhary, Dr Bharti Mahendru, Dr Pushpinder Kaur, Dr Sangeet Ranguwal from PAU; Mr KS Gill, Bank Manager, Punjab National Bank (retd.), and Dr Hardeep Singh, Deputy Director (Horticulture), Ludhiana, covered practical aspects of the beekeeping training.

Dr Prerna Kapila proposed a vote of thanks and advised the trainees to keep acquiring the skill trainings in agriculture from PAU for livelihood sustainability.
