Under the aegis of the Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized five days training programme on crop residue management from 24.09.2024 to 30.09.2024 at its adopted village Dyala in which 25 farmers participated. During the inauguration, Dr Pardeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, highlighted the harmful effects of burning of crop residue and laid stress on the proper management of paddy residue through the use of farm machinery. Dr. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) discussed in detail about the recommended paddy residue management technologies and also explained about the different residue management machinery developed by PAU. Dr. Baljit Singh, Assistant Professor (Entomology) discussed about insect pest management. Dr. Jaswinder Kumar, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) discussed about correct sowing method for different machines and weed management in residue managed fields.
