In observance of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign 2024,’ ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune organized a sensitization workshop on ‘Farm Safety & Hygiene,’ today.
Dr S. D. Sawant, Former Vice-Chancellor, Dr Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Dr K.V. Prasad, Director, ICAR-DFR, Pune, was also present during the programme.
As part of the program, the institute organized hands-on training and awareness sessions for farm and cleanliness workers, emphasizing the importance of safety protocols in their daily tasks. In addition to farm safety guidelines, workers and housing staff at ICAR-DFR Pune received training on the safe use of pesticides to reduce health risks from pesticide exposure. A special lecture on snake bite awareness, prevention, and care was also conducted to prepare participants for handling emergencies they might face while working on the farm.
