10 September 2024 On the occasion of 137th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the Acting Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the University Dr. Deepa Vinay and the Dean, Director, officers, employees and students of the University garlanded the statue of Pandit Pant in the University Center (NAHEP Bhawan) of Pantnagar University this morning. After this, the message of the President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu was read by the Registrar Dr. Deepa Vinay, the message of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was read by the Dean Postgraduate College Dr. K.P. Raverkar, the message of Uttarakhand Governor, Lt. General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh, the message of Dean Alaknanda Ashok, the message of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, Dean Agriculture Dr. S.K. Kashyap, the message of Agriculture Minister Shri Ganesh Joshi, Dean Fisheries Dr. Awadhesh Kumar and Vice Chancellor Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan were read out by Dean Student Welfare Dr. Brijesh Singh. Deans, Directors, Scientists, Teachers and Students of the University were present on this occasion.

In the main function organized in Dr. Ratan Singh Auditorium of the University, Chief Guest Dr. Deepa Vinay inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Addressing the function, Dr. Deepa Vinay said that Pandit Pant was a visionary, realizing the responsibility of providing food grains to the increasing population of India’s agriculture, he established the country’s first agricultural university in Pantnagar. He asked the students to follow his qualities and told the need to keep making continuous efforts for the improvement of education.

Chief Conservator of Pant Bhawan and Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Sciences, Dr. A.H. Ahmed; Dean, Student Welfare, Dr. Brijesh Singh; Dean, Agriculture Dr. S.K. Kashyap, while describing the personality of Pandit Pant, told about his qualities of considering education as a path of progress, time management, positive attitude, honesty, determination and courage and asked the youth to get inspiration from his qualities.

Ayan Singh and Vaibhav Gaur, students of Veterinary and Animal Science College, told about the life and works of Pandit Pant ji. On this occasion, students of Veterinary and Animal Science College and other colleges presented colorful cultural programmes. At the beginning of the programme, Hostel Warden, Pant Bhawan Hostel, Dr. Satish Kumar welcomed everyone. In the end, General Secretary of Pant Bhawan Society Deepak Joshi presented the vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by the students of Veterinary and Animal Science College.
