Introduction
Bioinformatics is a fast-growing field both at the level of Academia and Industry. Bioinformatics is crucial in advancing and improving various aspects of aquaculture and fisheries. It involves the application of computational and analytical methods to biological data, which can lead to significant advancements in understanding, managing, and enhancing aquatic organisms’ health, productivity, and sustainability.
The present bioinformatics workshop aims to train researchers in developing skills in data analysis using various bioinformatics tools and methods and enabling them to choose the right tools for their specific research projects. The workshop includes both lectures and hands-on sessions.

ABOUT US
ICAR- Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE) is the country’s premier fisheries I education and training Institute. It is the flagship of India’s aquaculture and fisheries education, research and technology development. The Institute has served the cause of science and society with distinction through high quality human resources, high-end research in both basic and applied aspects, generation of appropriate technologies and their dissemination.
The Institute organizes several training programs for the benefit of researchers, faculty and farmers under various schemes. It is the endeavours of CIFE to make available the advances in science to one and all. Keeping this view in mind, the present training program is organised, with preference to the Government’s notified backward section of society and others.
The Institute is about 10 Km from the airport and 20 Km from Dadar Railway station. The climate is pleasant during September and trainees are advised to carry light clothing.
INTAKE CAPACITY
A total of 25 participants will be selected on a first-come, first basis. Preference will be given to SC, ST and participants from North-East states.
ELIGIBILITY
Faculty from the science discipline, scientists, research scholars, doctoral and masters scholars from SAU/CAU/ICAR institutes/ other recognized research and education institutes.
