ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, organized a ‘Capacity Building-cum-Awareness and Fishery Inputs Distribution Programme for Fish Farming’ at ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kallipur, Varanasi, today under the guidance of Dr. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Bijendra Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and Technology, Ayodhya,  highlighted the state’s vast potential for fish farming. He urged the fish farmers to visit fish-based institutions and work together to increase profits. Dr. Singh emphasized that farmers can adopt scientific fish farming and develop integrated agriculture systems to enhance their income by connecting with fish institutions.

Special Guest Shri. Shailendra Raghubanshi, Member of  Management Council of ANDUAT, Ayodhya, acknowledged the fish farming unit at the ICAR-KVK to help farmers develop technical skills.

In the technical session, scientists from the ICAR-NBFGR shared detailed information on various aspects of fish farming with the farmers.
