A week-long awareness program on Vichar/Hackathon on Compost/Biogas Production organized during 6-12 May 2024 to promote Mission Lifestyle concluded on 12 May, 2024 at 11.30 am in the Mini Auditorium of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. The session was chaired by Dr. RK Sohne, Director, Extension Education, BAU, Sabour. During the closing session, Registrar, Dr. M. Haque, Principal Bihar Agricultural College, Dr. S.N. Rai, Chairman, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Dr. Sanjay Kumar and senior faculty member Dr. Shashikant were present. UG/PG students of three colleges of BAU, Sabour also attended the program. Expressing his views, Dr. Sohne added that he urged the students to adopt the seven objectives of Mission Life in their lives. He also encouraged the production of compost and biogas by reusing waste materials from the hostel kitchen. He clearly stated that the university campus should be plastic free and only biodegradable items should be used. The dignitaries present on the stage expressed their views and ideas on the conservation of the environment for the betterment of the coming generation.

Earlier, on the fifth day of the Mission Life program, an essay writing competition was organized for UG students in the newly constructed lecture theater of BAU, Sabour. The competition started at 3 pm. The topic of the essay competition was soil erosion, desertification and land restoration. 28 students from Bihar Agricultural College, College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences and College of Agricultural Biotechnology, Sabour participated in the said competition. The jury committees constituted for the specific competitions compiled the results on the spot.

On the sixth day of the program, speech, photography, slogan, essay writing, model and painting competitions were organized in the newly constructed lecture theater of BAU, Sabour. The competitions started on May 11, 2024 at 3.00 pm. The topic of all the competitions revolved around soil erosion, desertification and land restoration. Around hundred students from nine different schools of Bhagalpur participated. Anand Public School, Happy Valley School, Holy Family School, Diksha International School, DAV Public School, Delhi Public School, Aadya Public School, Saraswati Vidya Mandir and Mount Assisi School participated in the said competitions. The competitions were divided into two groups i.e. Junior Group (Class- I-T) and Senior Group (Class III-G).
