In a bid to foster sustainable agricultural practices, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya (Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar) organized an awareness camp on ‘Natural Farming’ at village Janiwal on 12-12-2023. The event drew participation from 64 enthusiastic farmers and farm women, seeking knowledge and insights into this eco-friendly approach.
Dr Arti Verma, Assistant Professor, Vegetable Science at KVK Langroya, extended a warm welcome, emphasizing the pivotal role of natural farming in the current agricultural landscape. She shed light on KVK’s ongoing endeavors in promoting natural farming through comprehensive initiatives such as awareness camps, training sessions, and demonstrations across Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. She also elucidated on the significance of fruits and vegetables in our diets, offering insights into winter vegetable cultivation and mushroom farming.
Dr Baljeet Singh, Assistant Professor of Entomology, delved into the fundamental principles and practical facets of natural farming, including effective pest management strategies within this framework.
Mrs Renu Bala, Demonstrator in Home Science, outlined the Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s efforts geared toward enhancing the welfare of farmers and farm women.
The presence of Shri Jeet Ram, the Sarpanch of village Janiwal, along with the village’s Krishi Sakhiyan, Mrs Kamlesh Rani, and Joginder Kaur, signified collective community involvement in advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
