The Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), hosted a virtual session on “Agri Infra Funds and Intellectual Property Rights” to delve into the transformative potential of the agri-business startups. In total, 80 participants from diverse sectors interested in the growth and sustainability of the agricultural industry attended the event. The virtual session brought together prominent experts, agri startups and farmers under one platform to discuss the pivotal role played by the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund in enhancing the nation’s agricultural ecosystem.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, appreciated the role of PABI in nourishing the startup ecosystem and prompting Agripreneurship.

The session featured a distinguished panel of experts, including Ms Mani Mittal, Team AIF, Punjab, who shared her extensive knowledge and insights on fund’s implications for agricultural sector. Participants actively engaged in live question and answer sessions to seek clarifications, share experiences and exchange ideas with panelists.

The second part of the session i.e. “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)” was chaired by Ms Divya Kaushik from Punjab State Council of Science and Technology. It provided an in-depth understanding of how the IPR was important for a startup, how to get IPR and what are the government regulations for IPR.

Earlier, Dr TS Riar, Additional Director Communication and Principal Investigator (PI) of PABI, welcomed the speakers and briefly explained the startups of Punjab Agri Business Incubator.

Later, Dr Poonam A Sachdev, Co-PI, PABI, proposed a vote of thanks and congratulated the PABI team for the successful conduct of this virtual session.
