The 26th Zonal Research Extension Advisory Committee Meeting (ZREAC) for Rabi season for Zone III was organized today at Bihar Agricultural College, Sabour. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Kumar Sah, Dean (Agriculture), BAU, Sabour. He explained the importance of farmer participation in framing the research objectives of the university, which was possible through this meeting. He said that the feedback of the farmers will lead to the development of new research projects for solving the problems related to agriculture of the farmers to be researched by scientists.
Dr. S.N. Ray, Assoc. Dean-cum-Principal, BAC, Sabour presented the progress report of the previous ZREAC meeting for Rabi in which he informed the house that all queries of farmers were solved successfully by the scientists of the university.
Dr. P.K. Singh, Chairman, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, BAC, Sabour informed the house about the new varieties released by the university for Rabi season which could be helpful in Agroclimatic Zone III of Bihar.
In the next session, the farmers apprised about the problems faced in Rabi crops like Wheat, Linseed, Maize, etc. The agricultural scientists and farmers from six districts Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Sheikhpura, Khagaria and Lakhisarai were present in this programme. The welcome address and arrangement of the program was performed by Dr. Anil Paswan, Asst. Professor, Department of Extension Education, BAC, Sabour who acted as the coordinator of the program.
