Agribusiness Export Consortium (ABEC) was established at Directorate of Agribusiness Development, TNAU, Coimbatore on 20.11.2019. It caters to the needs of different stakeholders in agri export value chain. ABEC gives all agri export-related facilitation services to consortium members (agri exporters, export oriented FPOs and institutions).

Major objectives
To disseminate knowledge, create awareness and provide a common forum of interaction amongst agri exporters, export promoting agencies, stakeholders in agri export business, academicians, professionals and government agencies in the domain of agricultural exports.

To facilitate and offer handholding services in terms of networking, mentoring, procedural compliances by connecting consultants, market and financial linkages to achieve excellence in agricultural exports.

To host interface meet, stakeholders meet, conclaves, discussions, dialogues, webinars and conferences in order to identify gaps, challenges in export supply chain, bridging the gaps and policy advocacy.

To conduct capacity building programmes on “Technical aspects and nuances in Agricultural exports” for the benefit of different stakeholders in Agri export value chain.

To facilitate and connect academia on export market research, product quality, traceability, packing, packaging, sanitary and phytosanitary standards (SPS) to make Indian exporters globally competitive.

To promote Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing practices (GMP) among stakeholders in agri export supply chain to produce export fit agricultural produces

Services offered
Different services offered were disseminate information on agri based exportable products, how to select the products for export markets, ways and means to identify buyers in international market, connecting the reputed export consultants for availing logistics, documentation and digital marketing services. Facilitating network of stakeholders, buyer and seller meet and market linkages. Connecting with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and Institutes like IIFPT, Thanjavur, IIPT, Perungudi, and APEDA. Showcasing the members products (export) in permanent exhibition hall. Facilitates and expose the consortium members to national and international trade fairs and exhibitions.
