ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad commemorated its 9th foundation day today 21st December 2023.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR, applauded the efforts of the Institute in developing rice technologies for the benefit of the farmers and consumers and emphasized the importance of research in bringing in climate resilience and outlined the future research directions.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. S K Pradhan Addl. Director General (FFC), ICAR, accentuated the Institute’s progress in terms of development and popularization of technologies for enhancing rice yields and quality.
Dr. R.M. Sundaram, Director, IIRR, briefed about the progress and achievements of the Institute.
Dr. D. Raji Reddy, Former Director of Research, PJTSAU, emphasized on prediction models and the technologies for rice improvement amidst a rapidly changing climate and changing consumer requirement in world rice market.
