Linguistic Society of India (LSI) founded in 1928 is a learned society of Linguists that works to promote the scientific study of language. The society publishes a scholarly journal Indian Linguistics. Since 1970, LSI has been organizing an annual conference every year in collaboration with various Institutions to showcase current research in linguistics, foster discussion amongst its members through the presentation of peer- reviewed research, plenary sessions and scientific sessions. The 45th edition of the conference will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics at Aligarh Muslim University.
