The 15th Foundation Day celebration was organized at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI) Zone-III, Kanpur.
In his address, Honorable Chief Guest Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice-Chancellor, CSJMU, Kanpur emphasized that this century is about skill, and along with a degree, skill is very important. He said that agriculture is not limited to any one subject. There are many innovative farmers who excel despite not having degrees in agriculture-related fields. During his address he told that Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur will work jointly for benefit of farmers and students.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dr. Shantanu Kumar Dubey, Director, ICAR-ATARI Kanpur welcomed all the guests and narrated about the progress, activities and achievements of ATARI Kanpur over the years. He briefed about the mandate and activities of institute and special programs like CRM, NICRA, ARYA, DAMU, Agri-Drone, CFLD, Natural Farming etc.
He mentioned that, this office evolved from Zonal coordination unit to Zonal Project Directorate and now functioning as Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI) since July 2017. On this occasion, MoU was also signed between Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur and three progressive farmers were
honored.
Special guests Prof. (Dr.) Ankush Sharma, Incharge Startup incubation and innovation center, I.I.T. Kanpur and Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur also presented their views. Progressive farmers and Head KVKs from Unnao, Pratapgarh, and Lucknow, professors and students from CSJMU, Kanpur also took part in the program.
