As many as 100 farmers participated in the one-day workshop on “Natural Resource Management and Technologies for Potato Cultivation,” organized by the Skill Development Centre of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in collaboration with Mahindra HZPC Private Limited. The course was held under the guidance of PAU’s Director of Extension Education Dr MS Bhullar.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Skill Development), said that the course laid thrust on enhancing the quality of potatoes and income of the farmers while conserving the natural resources.

Dr Mahesh Narang, Head, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering; and Dr Nilesh Bilwalkar, Dr Devinder Tiwari and Dr Lavleesh Garg, PAU experts, dealt with the practical and theoretical aspects of the successful potato cultivation through specific emphasis on water saving, soil health maintenance and mechanization technologies.
