Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana flagged off 15 B.Tech Dairy Technology (Batch 2019) students from College of Dairy Science and Technology (CODST) foran international training programme on “International Collaborative Training Program on Advances in Quality and Safety Assessment of Animal Based Foods” at University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia from 10th June, 2023.
Dr. R.S. Sethi, Dean, CODST informed that the training is for four weeks from 10th June to 7th July and is sponsored by World Bank and NAHEP, ICAR funded Institutional Development Plan (IDP) operational at GADVASU. The training aims at providing the students an opportunity to have exposure to the facilities and techniques at reputed institutes in developed countries. Dr. Sethi said that this visit will help the students in expanding their knowledge domain and acquiring latest practical skills. Dr. Awis Qurni Sazili, Director, Halal Products Research Institute, UPM, Malaysia is hosting the contingent from GADVASU to provide practical demonstration on various advanced laboratory techniques quality and safety assessment of animal based foods.
Dr. Varinder Pal Singh, Incharge IDP, CODST congratulated the students for being selected for this training and advised them to take maximum advantage of this opportunity to enhance their practical knowledge in advanced laboratory techniques and to establish links for pursuing higher studies abroad. He appreciated and acknowledged the IDP-NAHEP, GADVASU for providing this great opportunity to undergraduate students of CODST. Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor, GADVASU, conveyed best wishes to the students and motivated them to work hard and sincerely during their stay at UPM, Malaysia. He advised the students to be interactive with the experts and try to learn new things. He further added that the international academic and research linkages developed will go a long way in uplifting the career of the students.
