77th Independence Day was celebrated at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana with great enthusiasm Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice–Chancellor, hoisted the National Flag in the University premises. Dr. Singh, firstly paid rich tributes to all those who fought for the country’s freedom. He said that we all must remember and salute them.
In his address, Dr. Inderjeet Singh said that in this year the university developed gymnasiums, sports and extra-curricular facilities for the holistic development of the students. He said that we are working on the overall refinement of B.V.Sc. & A.H curriculum at the national level. With these changes students will find more time for their personality development with their studies. He said that we should come forward and try our best to eradicate corruption and drug menace. Dr. Singh vowed that to develop different technologies for suitable use of stubble is our top priority area. He motivated students to serve this country after getting higher education from this land.
He praised and motivated scientists and employees of the institute to put their best for strengthening the institute. He encouraged all for a disciplined and productive life for the betterment of the society. The Vice-Chancellor along with officers of the university honored different non-teaching members of varsity for their administrative contributions, achievements and exemplary work for the university.
Patriotic songs, choreography and poems were presented by the university students. The celebration was attended by officers of the Varsity, Heads of Departments, faculty, staff and students. The well managed show was organized by the Directorate of Students Welfare cum Estate Office under the leadership of Dr. Satyavan Rampal DSW cum EO.
