A five-day training programme was organized at Regional Research Station, Jodhpur Farm Bathinda on “”Efficient utilization of resources in drip irrigated cotton and other kharif crops” on 26th Feb to 1st March 2024. The training was organized under the NABARD sponsored Project “Amelioration of barren undulated land to cotton-wheat crop systems through micro irrigation using saline water in semi-arid region of Punjab”. Dr Anureet Kaur Dhaliwal, Senior Agronomist is PI and Dr Harjeet Singh Brar, Agronomist is Co-PI of the project. A field day was also organized on 1st March 2024 and the farmers were acquainted with the use of micro irrigation in wheat. Dr. K.S.Sekhon Director, Regional Station (Bathinda),Dr G.S. Romana Principal Agricultural Economist, Dr. Parmjit Singh Principal Cotton Breeder and Dr Jagdish Grover Principal Scientist (Agril. Engineering) enlightened farmers with new challenges in Agriculture and ways to cope up with water scarcity. Various experts also addressed farmers. Twenty five participants from nearby villages of Bathinda district participated in this training program and field day.
