A one-day training programme on 21st December 2023 Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) of medicinal and aromatic plants was organised by the ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research, Anand.

Dr. Manish Das, Director, ICAR-DMAPR, emphasised post-harvest management of M&APs which play an important role in fetching a premium price for the produce. He stressed the need for the establishment of home herbal gardens for primary health care needs. Dr. Das opined that the cultivation of MAPs in diversified cropping systems will be more economical than monocropping.

Participants were provided with farm inputs and quality planting materials. Farmers also visited the Technology Demonstration Block and Hydro-Steam Distillation unit at the Directorate.

The programme was attended by 100 farmers in the training programme.
