The first meeting of the X Research Advisory Committee was held on 15th-16th April 2024 at ICAR- Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa in hybrid mode.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. S. D. Sawant, Former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli, Maharashtra.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa, outlined the ICAR-CCARI’s major achievements during the last year.
Dr. Shirish D. Narnaware, Member Secretary, RAC presented the action taken report on the recommendations of the previous RAC.
Dr. Manoj P. Samuel, Executive Director, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management, Kerala, Dr. Raj Kumar Gautam, Principal Scientist & Head, ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Dr. V. Sejian, Dean, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education & Research, Puducherry, Dr. Grinson George, Principal Scientist and Head, ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kerala, Dr. Venkatesh Ganesh Prabhu Desai, Progressive farmer, Goa, Dr. A. Velmurugan, Assistant Director General (SWM), NRM Division, ICAR, Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, Goa and Member Secretary, attended the meeting.
A technical bulletin on ‘Sustainable backyard poultry farming in Goa’ was released. The Chairman and members of RAC visited all experimental farms (Block A, B, and C), infrastructures, and various units and interacted with the scientists.
