Soil map for micro- (Zn, Fe, Mn, Cu, B) and secondary nutrients (S) for 12 districts (Burdwan, Hoogly, Howrah, Bankura, Malda, Cooch behar, Jalpaiguri, Nadian N- & S- Dinajpur, N- & S- 24 Parganas) prepared in collaboration with NBSS & LUP
Crop cultivars in the pipeline /recommended for multi-locational evaluation –
- Forage crop : Bidhan Ricebean 3
- Pulse crops : Low-neurotoxin containing Lathyrus (Bidhan Khesari-1), : Short duration Kabuli gram (Bidhan Chola 1)
- Vegetables : Dolichos bean (BCDB-1), Chilli (BCC-1 and BCCH Sl-4), Brinjal (BCB-11; BCB-30), vegetable Cowpea (BCCP-3), pointed gourd (BCPG-3; BCPG-4; BCPG-5)
- Flowers : Merigold (Bidhan Marigold-1 (yellow), Bidhan Marigold-2 (orange), Chrysanthemum (Bidhan Shova, Bidhan Agnisikha and Bidhan Swapna etc) ØRice : two rice lines pyramided with three P-deficiency tolerant genes
DISSAT model for rice has been calibrated. This can be used for yield prediction particularly during boro season by integrating with GIS
Technology for protected cultivation of high value flowers and vegetables.
