Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda organized 08 days Skill development Training under on poultry farming from 19th August 2024 to 29th August 2024 for farmers/farm women & rural youth in which 50 trainees from different villages participated. The programme started with the welcome address by Dr. Gurdeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Director (Training). He oriented the participants about the need and importance of agriculture & allied occupations. Course coordinator Dr. Ajitpal Singh Dhaliwal, Professor (Animal Science) delivered lecture on various aspects of poultry farming like: feeding, breeding, brooding, vaccination, disease control & health care etc. Dr. G S Dhillon, Professor (Ext. Edu.) motivated the farmers for the FPO & SHG formation. Dr. G K Dhillon, Food Technologist, Regional Research Station, Bathinda delivered lectures on role of processing in poultry farming to increase the farm income. This vocational training programme concluded with the motivation to the trainees to adopt this as an enterprise to supplement the family income as well as to provide healthy and nutritious food to the family members. Special emphasizes given on backyard poultry farming to improve the health and economical status of the farming families living in the rural youth.
