In a momentous event held on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, the Punjab Government honoured 10 exemplary SHE startups, of which five have been incubated at Punjab Agri Business Incubator (PABI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). These startups were felicitated for their remarkable contributions to the state’s burgeoning startup ecosystem. The event, attended by high-ranking officials, including the Secretary of Science, Technology, and Environment, Government of Punjab, recognized the tireless dedication and innovative spirit of these women-led enterprises.
The honored startups included Gowri Skincare Pvt Ltd, M-Kelly Biotech Pvt Ltd, RIBIOP OPC Pvt Ltd, Millet Sisters Pvt Ltd, and Divine Organic Solutions Pvt Ltd. These startups are part of the SHE cohort under the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, which played a pivotal role in nominating them for this prestigious honor.
Congratulating the startups, Dr TS Riar, Principal Investigator (PI) at PABI, said, “This recognition by the State Government is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our startups. It also underscores the impactful role that PABI, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, plays in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship in Punjab.”
Dr Poonam Sachdev, Co-PI at PABI, stated: “It is a proud moment for us at PABI to see our startups being acknowledged at such a significant platform. Their achievements reflect the strong support system we have cultivated through our collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. We look forward to continuing this journey of innovation and success.”
Er Karanvir Gill, Business Manager at PABI, also lauded the efforts of the startups: “I am immensely proud of the achievements of our SHE startups. The recognition they have received today is well-deserved and is a result of their unwavering commitment to excellence. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology for their continued support and encouragement.”
Mr Rahul Gupta, Assistant Manager at PABI, added: “The success of these startups is a shining example of what can be achieved through determination, innovation, and strong mentorship. We are grateful to the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology for providing a platform that empowers women entrepreneurs to excel. This recognition will inspire many more to follow in their footsteps.”
