Pantnagar. May 1, 2024. Today, on the occasion of International Labor Day/May Day, a program was organized expressing gratitude towards the struggle of the working class by SRP students studying in the Resource Management Department of the College of Community Sciences in the University. This program was organized under the guidance of Dr. Chhaya Shukla in which the community present expressed their gratitude towards the working class who have made their valuable contribution in nation building. Every year, May 1 is celebrated as Labor Day or May Day in many countries of the world including India. This day is dedicated to laborers and working class individuals around the world. There is no construction in nation building in which the labor of the working class does not contribute. The construction, progress and development of any nation is not possible without the participation of the working class. The purpose of Labor Day is to honor the working class as well as to strengthen their unity and to make them aware of their rights. This event is an innovative initiative taken by the students of Student Ready Program through which they have given a message to all sections of the society to become sensitive towards the working class and also consider the contribution of the working class as very important in the success of their life. Acknowledging this, expressed gratitude towards him. In this program, 15 people including all the working class working in the college as well as workers of Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Balanilayam Shishu Mandir Junior High School and Campus School participated in this program. The main theme of Labor Day this year is to ensure workplace safety and health amid climate change. Health check-up of the workers was conducted in which their BMI and BP were measured. Everyone was given health related information. The workers were thanked and appreciated through a video by the college staff. On this occasion, Head of the Department Dr. Seema Kwatra, Dr. Divya Singh, Dr. Sandhya Rani, Shri T.A. Khastagir, Dr. Anupama Pandey, Dr. Sonu Rani, Mr. Sarvesh Rai, Mr. Neeraj, Dr. Poonam etc. were present. This unique initiative and effort of the students was greatly appreciated by the present community and the working class.
