3 October 2024 | The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the College of Agriculture at the university conducted a cleanliness and tree plantation campaign from 17 September to 02 October 2024. Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, so far 224 saplings have been planted by the National Service Scheme volunteers. On the occasion of the 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2 October 2024, the National Service Scheme team of Pantnagar University organized a special cleanliness and tree plantation campaign. The aim of this campaign was to spread awareness about cleanliness among the students and the community.

This program was dedicated to Gandhiji’s ideals of cleanliness and environmental protection. Under this campaign, students, teachers and NSS volunteers together cleaned the Pantnagar campus, after which mango and litchi plants were planted in the outer campus of the schools located in Pantnagar under the tree plantation program. The purpose of tree plantation was not only to protect the environment but also to fulfill our responsibilities towards nature conservation by taking inspiration from Gandhiji’s life.

This program was organized by NSS Program Officer Dr. Ruchi Rani Gangwar and Dr. Ajay Kumar Tripathi under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Dr. Abhishek Tomar and Dean Agriculture Dr. S. K. Kashyap. On this occasion, Dr. Manoj Radhva, Dr. Shriram, Dr. S. K. Srivastava and Mrs. Manju Joshi etc. contributed significantly in the successful organization of this program.
