Ms Pooja Sharma, an M.Sc. scholar pass out from the Department of Biochemistry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), secured the first position in poster presentation during the two-day International Conference on “Current Advances in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Allied Sciences,” held at Matrika Auditorium, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, India from July 10 to 11 through online mode. She was awarded for her paper entitled “Role of proline metabolism in differential tolerance of teosinte and derived lines towards water logging.” In her M.Sc. programme, she had worked on “Effect of water logging on polyamine and proline metabolism of teosinte and derived lines” under the guidance of her Major Advisor Dr Kamaljit Kaur, Biochemist, Department of Biochemistry, PAU.
Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor; Dr Shammi Kapoor, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities; and Dr Manjeet Kaur Sangha, Principal Biochemist-cum-Head of the department, congratulated the student for her achievement.
