Under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1, Ludhiana, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized in-service training on efficient utilization of crop residue management machinery for secretary and field staff of cooperative societies on 17.09.2024 at its campus. During the welcome address Dr. Pardeep Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Langroya, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar highlighted the harmful effects of burning of crop residue and laid stress on the proper management of paddy residue through the use of farm machinery. Dr. Kirandeep, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) discussed in detail about the recommended paddy residue management technologies and also explained about the different residue management machinery developed by PAU. Dr. Jaswinder Kumar, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) discussed about correct sowing method for different machines and weed management in residue managed fields. Literature related to crop residue management was provided to the participants and crop residue machinery at KVK was exhibited.
