Punjab Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda by Dr. Makhan Singh Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, Ludhiana and Dr. Under the guidance of Gurdeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Director, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda, an awareness camp was organized on 09.09.2024 at Village Baho Yatri Block, Bathinda regarding stubble management. The main objective of this camp was to teach the farmers proper use of agricultural machinery for proper management of stubble. On this occasion Dr. Pritpal Singh, (District Extension Specialist), Farm Advisory Service Center, Bathinda, informed the farmers that adding straw to the field continuously for 3-4 years increases the amount of silt in the soil and increases the fertility of the field tremendously. . He also appealed to the farmers that the farmers can manage the stubble by using the machinery provided by the Veer Krishi Science Center and by doing this, the farmers can contribute to keeping the environment clean. Dr. Sarvpriya Singh (Assistant Professor, Horticulture) motivated the farmers about the importance of home garden and cultivation of fruit trees so that farmers can grow their own vegetables according to their household needs. Dr. Tejbir Singh Buttar (Assistant Professor, Soil Science) shared information about stubble management and proper use of fertilizers with the farmers. On this occasion, vegetable kits and books were provided to the farmers. About 65 advanced farmers participated in this village level camp.
