A poster making competition was organized by the RAWE – Group 1 students of the College of Horticulture and Forestry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), at Government Senior Secondary School, Lalton Kalan, Ludhiana, with the aim of conserving the mother nature and sustaining the use of natural resources. This event was followed by an awareness rally, in which students from both the RAWE group and the school actively participated.
During the event, the B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture – 4th year students, Aastha, Shaganpreet Kaur, Ravneet Singh and Gourav Singh, addressed the school students and highlighted the causes and consequences of continuous exploitation of natural resources. They emphasized the importance of making judicious use of these resources.
Students Nimrat Kaur and Diya Jain provided a detailed explanation about the significance of natural resources and the need to sustain their utility.
Shivam and Anmolpreet Kaur shared effective methods and ways of conserving the environment.
The poster making competition took place in the school hall, and the students who won the competition were appreciated with certificates and gifts provided by Anna, Rosepreet Kaur, Inderpreet Singh and Mahavir Singh. Following the poster making competition, an awareness rally was organized with the enthusiastic participation of the school students to promote environment conservation and the judicious use of the natural resources.
The whole event was organized with the assistance and guidance of Dr Ashok Kumar Dhakad, Dr Manveen Kaur and Dr Harmeet Sarlach.
