Pantnagar. 11 June 2024. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Manmohan Singh Chauhan, inaugurated the paddy plantation at Beni field of the University Farm this morning with due ceremony. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor informed that the work of paddy plantation has been started in the University Farm and the seed of the University is famous all over the country by the name of ‘Pantnagar Seed’. Last year, more than 11 thousand quintals of wheat was produced in the university and the yield increased by 20 to 22 percent. He informed that the university’s scientists deliver high-yielding seeds to the farmers through new techniques developed through research. The university has played a leading role in the seed production of various crops and the gradual increase of food grains in the country. Every year, 1-2 high-yielding species of paddy and wheat are being developed by the university so that farmers can increase their income by using them. He said that Pantnagar University is always dedicated to the farmers. He praised the hard work being done by Chief General Manager Farm Dr. Jayant Singh and all the members of his team and workers.

On this occasion, Finance Controller Dr. Abha Garkhal, Director Research Dr. A.S. Nain, Director Extension Education Dr. Jitendra Kwatra, Director Communication Dr. J.P. Jaiswal, General Manager (Technical) Dr. Parvinder Singh, General Manager (Farm) Dr. Ajay Prabhakar, Security Officer Dr. G.S. Bohra, Engineer Vikas, Field Assistant Mahendra Sharma and other officers and agricultural workers were present.
