Pantnagar. 11 July 2024. National Fisheries Day declared by the Government of India in honor of Dr. Hiralal Chaudhary in the university to commemorate the ‘catalyzed fish production technology developed by him’ was organized by the College of Fisheries on 10 July 2024. This year the focal theme of National Fisheries Day has been set as ‘Economy Fishing’. Acting Vice Chancellor and Registrar Dr. Deepa Vinay was the chief guest in this program and Dean Student Welfare Dr. Brijesh Singh was present as the special guest. About 25 fish farmers and farmers from different areas participated in the program, to whom about one lakh fish seeds of high quality carp species were distributed. On this occasion, Dr. Deepa Vinay appealed to the farmers to play an important role in fish production to fulfill the objectives of Blue Revolution by incorporating all the advanced techniques of fisheries and get health and economic security from nutritious fish. In the program, Dr. Brijesh Singh appreciated the excellent work done by him in fisheries and advised to adopt the most useful related fisheries technology. In the program, Dean, College of Fisheries, Dr. Awadhesh Kumar said that the college and the scientists will work together for the farmers and will provide assistance in incorporating the developed techniques of fish production. On this occasion, faculty members of College of Fisheries, Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, Dr. Vipul Gupta, Dr. Rajesh, Dr. Anoop Kumar and Dr. Akansh Khati expressed their views and wished everyone on National Fisheries Day.
