On the occasion of World Environment Day 2024, a one-day program was organized by the State Council of Science and Technology (UCOST) and the Department of Environmental Sciences in the university. In the program, the chief guest, Acting Vice Chancellor and Dean Community Science College Dr. Alka Goyal, Dean Science and Humanities Dr. Sandeep Arora, Head of the Department of Environmental Science Dr. R. K. Srivastava, Professor Emeritus Dr. Veer Singh, Dr. Shweta Saraswat etc. planted trees in the campus of the college along with the students. Dr. Alka Goyal explained the importance of the environment and advised the students to plant trees for environmental protection. He said that we should save water and keep our surroundings clean. Guest speaker Dr. Veer Singh emphasized on planting trees and taking care of the environment, he also told the ways to keep life happy and advised to do gardening. Dr. Sandeep Arora, while giving his views on the environment, asked to take necessary steps for environmental protection. Dr. R. K. Shrivastava gave the responsibility of the planted trees to the students and the students took a pledge to protect their trees. Various competitions were organized for the students on the occasion of Environment Day. In the competition, the students expressed their views on land degradation, desertification and other environmental issues. The top students in the debate competition, poster competition and quiz competition were awarded. In the program, certificates were distributed to the school, graduate and postgraduate students who participated in various competitions. In the program, about 150 students including students of 5th to 12th class from nearby schools and university students participated in various competitions. The program was conducted with the help of Aastha Joshi, Roshni, Nikita, Bhabya Tiwari, Komal Rawat, Tanmay etc.
