Under the guidance of Director Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana; Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pathankot (Gho) organised a Training Camp (One-day) on ‘Crop Residue Management’ Dated:17 Oct 2023, sponsored by Joint Director Agriculture (Engg.) o/o Directorate Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Punjab for the beneficiaries which included Progressive farmers, Farmer Producer Organization (FPOs), Registered Farmers Group (RFGs) and Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS)and officials from allied agriculture departments. In this programme Dr. Rajinder Kumar (Chief Department of Agriculture, Pathankot) graced the occasion as Guest of honor. The program started with welcome address by Dr. Narinder Deep Singh (DDT, KVK Pathankot) Lectures on Utility of CRM machines, along with initiatives in the field of Crop Residue Management by KVK Pathankot, Seed varieties suitable for Crop Residue Management machinery, Effectiveness of Crop Residue Management on Soil Health, Subsidies of CRM machineries and regarding alternative use of Paddy Crop Residue were delivered. Exhibitions regarding CRM machineries were also organised, and relevant literature was also distributed. Progressive farmers practicing CRM technologies were honored on this occasion. Special emphasis was given to Surface Seeding technique adoption. Approximately, 82 participants took benefit from this CRM training.
