Auspicious occasion of Farmer’s Day today at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSWRI), North Temperate Regional Center of Avikanagar, Gadsa, District Kullu, Himachal, through three Scheduled Tribe (Tribal Sub Plan) and Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan run by the institute. A one-day (23 to 25 December) training program on “Sheep and Rabbit Farming” was started.
Dr. R. Purushothaman, President (CSWRI), informed about various subsidies being provided by the government to encourage farmers to take up animal husbandry.

Dr. Rajni Chaudhary (Scientist) and Dr. Abdul Rahim, (Scientist) informed the farmers about various subjects of training.

70 farmers from Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes of Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts participated in the inauguration ceremony.
