Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s Fliteline Aviation Academy, New Delhi, to launch the Bouquet of Harmonized Aviation and Agriculture Related Training Initiative (BHAARTI), a groundbreaking program dedicated to advancing drone technology and empowering women through skill development. This initiative, shall be approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India as remote pilot training organisation (RPTO). BHAARTI shall be an all women Centre of Excellence for drone technology. The program will focus on training pilots, manufacturing state-of-the-art agricultural drones, its Maintenance and repair organisation (MRO) and promoting research and development in the field. By integrating cutting-edge technology with real-world applications, BHAARTI aims to be a catalyst for transforming Bihar’s drone industry in agriculture sector.
Empowering Women Through Aviation and Agriculture
In line with the ethos of BAU, Sabour, one of BHAARTI’s most ambitious goals is fostering gender inclusivity in the aviation and agriculture industries. The initiative will provide training exclusively for women, particularly from rural areas, equipping them with essential skills in drone operation, maintenance, and agricultural applications. This endeavours aligns with the government’s broader vision of women empowerment and economic upliftment. By enabling women to become certified drone pilots and entrepreneurs in the drone industry, BHAARTI seeks to bridge the gender gap in technology-driven professions.
Transforming Agriculture Through Drone Technology
BHAARTI aims to revolutionize modern farming by introducing advanced drone solutions for crop spraying, seeding, mapping, and environmental monitoring. By integrating GPS technology, obstacle avoidance systems, and autonomous flight controls, these drones will enhance efficiency and sustainability in agriculture. The use of drones will not only increase agricultural yield and reduce manual labour but also contribute to environmental conservation by optimizing pesticide and fertilizer usage.
World-Class Training Programs
The BHAARTI initiative will offer comprehensive drone pilot training programs under the courses, designed as per DGCA-approved curriculum, including:
- Drone survey and mapping
- Aerial cinematography and field inspection
- Agricultural drone pilot training for women
- Drone maintenance and repair (MRO) services
- The MoU was signed by Dr Anshuman Kohli, CEO, SABCONs, BAU, Sabour and Mr Rishie Mishra, Director, Founder and Director, Fliteline Aviation Academy, New Delhi on behalf of the two parties respectively.
