ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology organized a mini farmer’s fair today at Tili Village in Gaighata, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.

The Chief Guest Shri Laxman Chandra Sarkar, District Development Manager, NABARD, North 24 Parganas, shared insights on NABARD’s funding facilities and led an oath-taking ceremony with farmers and scientists as part of a vigilance awareness activity.

The fair featured a jute grading stall where a machine for grading jute was demonstrated to farmers, and a stall showcased various jute-based products. A representative from Krishicraft also presented their e-platform for marketing jute products. Additionally, the event included a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activity in the village.

Scientists from ICAR-NINFET provided talks on various technologies, training opportunities, and extension activities.

A total of 150 farmers from the Gaighata block, along with ICAR-NINFET scientists, attended the fair.
