The Meerut District Cricket Association won Dr APJ Abdul Kalam (Under-16) State Level Cricket Tournament defeating Mark Cricket Academy by 51 runs. The match was played at the Willingdon Cricket Pavilion, Aligarh Muslim University Sunday.
After winning the toss the Meerut District Cricket Association opted to bat first and scored 224 runs in 39.4 overs. Yashu Pardhan and Varnit scored 84 and 49 runs respectively, while Hansam Ali Khan and Kaif took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Mark Cricket Academy scored 173 runs in 37.2 overs. Aman Kumar and Kaif scored 41 and 27 runs respectively. Anupam Vashisht bowled out 4 players. Yashu Pardhan was declared the Man of the Match while Varnit Chokar received the Best Bowler award and Harsh Vardhan was declared the Man of the Series.
Chief Guest Mr Riasat Ali Khan (Director Incharge and Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and the Guest of Honour Prof. Asfar Ali Khan, Director, School Directorate, AMU, Prof Moinuddin and Prof S Amjad Ali Rizvi distributed prizes to the winner and runner up teams.
Faisal MRK Sherwani conducted the prize distribution ceremony.
