An interaction with the seed firm officers of the private companies (Nuziveedu, Rasi, Platinum, Prabhath, Crystal & Veda) was held at KVK, Palem on 14.05.2024. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem interacted with the gathering and highlighted the major objectives of the project. Following are the few issues to be considered and what are all the discrepancies can be avoided from the past year during the ensuing season. The farmers selection must be started well in advance, encouraging the marginal famers-less than 5 acres of holdings, farmers who have realized low yields and farmers who are farming under rain fed situations under marginal soils, there should not be repetition from the same family, Tenant farmers can be avoided etc.
Demonstrations must be in a cluster approach and making sure to take up 30% of sowings with the Pneumatic planter in a cluster approach. Instructed all to keep the seed available well in advance as per the recommendations (6 packets for HDPS & 4-5 for closer spacing) to the farmers as the monsoons may be expected beforehand. Finally, encouraged all to promote the technology for the benefit of the famers and make the project a success. In this meeting Dr. T.
