KVK, Palem organized a field Day at Sri. Ramakrishna Reddy Garu’s field. The farmer has adopted Closer spacing (90X20 cm) with RCH-929 hybrid in 8 acres. The farmer has followed the best management practices including PGR spray & IPM practices. In this programme Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme coordinator, KVK, Palem emphasized that how HDPS in cotton is advantageous over the normal planting system by quoting previous success stories. Highlighted that the canopy management is beneficial to achieve more bolls, uniform boll bursting and satisfactory yields. Dr. B. Rajashekar, SMS (Extension) suggested the farmers not to extend the crop and removing, incorporating crop in to the soil in order to avoid PBM incidence and market scenario and linkages for better prices.

Mr. K. Ramakrishna, SMS(CP) KVK, Palem explained about after follow crop agronomic practices. There was a farmers scientist interaction and clarified the farmers questionnaires. A crop cutting experiment (CCE) was conducted in100 m2 (10mX10m) area and picking was taken up to give a live demonstration to the fellow farmers, where 36.2 kg per 100 m2 was realized and the expected yield is 13 to 14 q/acre. There was a farmers scientist interaction, all the queries were resolved by the Programme coordinator, KVK, Palem. In this programme Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme coordinator, Dr. B. Rajashekar, SMS (Extension), Mr. K. Ramakrishna, SMS(CP), KVK, Palem, Young professional and 52 farmers were participated.
