Field day in HDPS cotton and Kisan mela was conducted. In this programme first all the scientists , Nuziveedu seeds employees and farmers visited the cotton field at Palem village on 21.10.2023, anumula mandal later Dr.B.Pushpavathi, Associate Dean Agricultural college Palem Nagarkarnool (Dist) interacted with farmers , explained about RAWEP programme and encouraging farmers towards HDPS cotton cultivation. Dr.S.Srinivasa Rao, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar encouraged the farmers towards cotton cultivation in HDPS method. Explained how HDPS system helps for getting more monetary returns. Insisted farmers to apply growth regulators (mepiquat chloride) in HDPS cotton cultivation and explained about spacing in HDPS cotton. Dr.K. Chandrashekhar, SMS (Crop Production), explained about nutrient management and micronutrients management in cotton to obtain higher yields. Explained about RAWEP program and promoting farmers towards HDPS cotton cultivation. Smt.S.Pallavi SMS (Extension) explained about the RAWEP programme and she shared her experiences with RAWEP host farmers. Mr.Sai Kiran Agromet scientist explained about environment conditions in Nalgonda district. P. Narasimha Reddy AGM Nuziveedu seeds employee explained about the varieties suitable in HDPS cotton system. As a part of the field visit Dr.B.Pushpavathi and Dr.S.Srinivasa Rao interacted with farmers. Advisories on pest management were given, especially for the control of pink boll warm. Scientists advised farmers to incorporate the cotton residues in the soil after harvesting instead of burning. No of the Farmers attended: 112No’s.
