Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur organized a five days vocational training course on “Beekeeping as subsidiary occupation” from 9 to 13-10-2023.
During the inaugural session, Dr Maninder Singh Bons, Associate Director (Training), KVK Hoshiarpur, welcomed the participants and underscored the pivotal role of beekeeping in skill development and rural empowerment. He also shared the different activities of KVK Hoshiarpur with the participants.
Dr Prabhjot Kaur, Assistant Professor (Plant Protection), KVK Hoshiarpur, imparted theoretical and practical knowledge regarding seasonal management of bee hives, insect pest and disease management strategies, honey extraction techniques, products other than honey and the significance of migratory beekeeping.
During the training, S. Manjeet Singh, progressive beekeeper and KVK trainee from village Rampur, shared his experiences & the field problems being faced in the business of beekeeping and their remedies.
